Sitting on the opposite side of Mont Blanc from Chamonix; Courmayeur is the ideal Italian resort, with plenty to keep you occupied off the slopes as well as on them.
Skiing & Boarding
The mountains around Courmayeur lend themselves well to the intermediate level of skier and boarder. There are 110km of piste available and a good amount of off piste too, including access to the infamous Vallee Blanche. Runs are both in and above the tree line and a good number of snow cannons ensures that the snow is always at it's best.
The Town
The traditional market town of Courmayeur is both charming and stylish. With it's maze like cobbled streets and medieval centre it offers visitors luxury shopping, excellent cafes and bistros and a relaxed cosmopolitan atmosphere. There are numerous activities to keep visitors occupied during their stay and some of Italy's finest restaurants are reputed to be found here.

Après Ski
Courmayeur offers a good number of bars and clubs to suite most tastes.
With the town centre being frequented by stylish Milanese some of the bars have an atmosphere that they are defiantly the place to be seen.
There are of course many other bars that have a more relaxed air to them, including The Red Lion, & Bar Posta.
The town has two nightclubs that should keep the most determined party goers up 'till the small hours. |
Activities
The activities and entertainment available in Courmayeur should keep all it's visitors happy, even if you don't spend any time on the slopes.
The activities available include: an ice rink, tennis and squash courts, a swimming pool (in Pre St. Didier), a cinema and a weekly market.
This is all in addition to the numerous classy shops, bars and restaurants that fill the streets. |
Eating Out
There are a good selection of restaurants in the main town serving the expected variations of pizza and pasta dishes that Italy is famous for, as well as some very stylish places serving amazing dishes accompanied by great wines.
One restaurant of particular note is La Maison de Filippo where you are provided with a fixed price menu of more than 30 courses! |
Ski/Board Tuition
Courmayeur is in the fortunate position of having the British company Interski provide adult and children's lessons in the resort from instructors trained in the British Snowsports instruction program (B.A.S.I.). They have been based here for some time now and provide first class instruction at competitive prices. |

There are a good number of ski/boot and board hire companies offering competitive rates throughout the resort.

Childcare
Both the Baby Club at the sports centre and Kinderheim, based at Plan Checrouitcares provide childcare facilities for children from 6 months old. |
Lift passes cover all lifts in Courmayeur, plus 1 day in each of the French resorts of Flaine and Chamonix plus 2 days in the other Val d'Aosta resorts of La Thuile, Cervinia, Lipa, Gressoney and Champoluc.
