Resort Guide to Alpbach, Austria

Alpach was voted "Austria´s most beautiful village" in 1983. A picture postcard typically charming Tyrolean village. Family-friendly with good intermediate skiing.

Skiing & Boarding

Apart from one nursery slope in the middle of the village, the skiing is only accessible by taking a five-minute free bus ride to the Wiedersbergerhorn. Although this may seem an inconvenience to some, it is reported that you have to walk around in ski boots less in Alpbach than any other resort, due to the fact that the bus makes it so accessible.

Beginners

Beginners use the excellent wide nursery slope in the village or take the bus to Wiedersbergerhorn  where the gondola takes you up to further nursery slopes at the “Horn Boden”.

Intermediates

Alpbach is an excellent choice for intermediates. The main skiing access is via the Wiedersbergerhorn gondola, where you can enjoy the long tree lined red runs back to the gondola station or down to Inneralpbach.. 21 ski lifts bring the skier and snowboarder to 52km of immaculate pistes. The modern 8-man cable car "Family-Jet" brings one up fast and comfortably to the ideal for families Reitherkogel skiing area.
